New Mobile Commerce eBay is offering new mobile commerce, which has been designed to speed up the process of buying and selling for mobile internet users with Apple handsets. The online auction site has launched two new apps for iPhone owners - eBay Selling and eBay Classifieds - which it says should enable users to photograph a product and list it online in less than a minute. Furthermore, a mobile commerce app designed particularly for the Apple iPad will be launched by the company on April 3rd 2010 in support of the US launch of the mobile internet browsing device. Mobile Commerce Platform Consumers in the UK will have to wait a little longer to get these apps, as the iPad is set for a late April release here. Innovations such as these have led the company to predict it will generate $1.5 billion (ᆪ990 million) in merchandise via its mobile commerce platform this year. The president of eBay Marketplaces, Lorrie Norrington said, "We offer more choice in e-commerce formats for sellers and buyers than any other online shopping destination." Consumers could soon be tempted to make cheap international calls from their mobile phones following an announcement of new mobile commerce by eBay. |
