O2 Offers Fixed Line Voice And Line Rental Services

A Bundled Package from O2:

A good news for making cheap international calls with O2 offer. O2, the UK's largest mobile network operator has announced that it will start offering fixed line voice services to both new and existing fixed line broadband subscribers from mid of the year 2010.

The new product, offered under the O2 Home Phone banner has two tariff packages. GBP 9.50 Per month is one of the package that offers unlimited calls to the UK homes  on evenings and weekends with the price including the cost of the rental, whilst for GBP 12.50 per month offers the UK landline calls for free at any time and also 20 international destinations are also added to it. For those subscribers who have a mobile voice service with O2, a bundled package consisting of the operator’s ‘Standard’ broadband package and ‘Evening & Weekend’ phone package will cost GBP17 per month, including line rental.

Quality Of Service:

On the launch, Sally Cowdry, O2 UK’s marketing director, said: ‘This is the most important launch for us in the home space since we entered the broadband market and is part of our strategy to evolve beyond mobile to a leading connectivity brand. We know how many of our customers value the convenience of paying for their home phone and broadband together with no hidden extra costs, and we will be bringing the same commitment to quality of service with our home phone service as we have successfully established with broadband.’

As of 2009, 02 operator had 23.46 million mobile voice subscribers, giving it a market share of  under 30%. In the UK alone O2 had signed up 527,100 broadband customers by end of September 2009 and it has promised that it would sign up  one million fixed line broadband subscribers by the end of the year 2010.
