Speech Recognition System:
Research carried out by researchers at the University of Cambridge in collaboration with the University of St. Andrews has led to the development of new software for mobile phones. The software 'EmotionSense' uses speech recognition system to study persons emotion, moods and social behaviour and the GPS technology detects the location of the person at the time of making a call. Dr.Cecilia Mascolo, Chief researcher said, “Everyone has a mobile phone, so potentially they are perfect tool if you want to track the behaviour or emotional condition of large numbers of people. It is a completely non-intrusive means of achieving that which also respects privacy.”Overcome Limitations: A social psychologist at the University of Cambridge Dr. Jason Rentfrow said, "This technology has the potential to transform the ways in which scientists study psychological states and social behaviour. The methods most often used rely on self-reports, which are subject to a number of limitations. People forget certain details and are sometimes inaccurate at reporting how often they engaged in particular tasks. Mobile sensing technology can overcome those limitations, providing unobtrusive and objective information about social behaviours and activities. Cheap International Calls: Consumers may want to consider making cheap international calls with mobile phones or landlines. Now it can be made very easy without fear of heavy phone bills. The simple and easy way to make calls abroad from the UK to anywhere worldwide is through access numbers. Consumers can simply add an access number in their mobile phones or in landlines and can make unlimited cheap abroad calls having good quality of voice. |
