Facebook Making Smartphones?
Recent report says that the social networking website Facebook is planning to make its own mobile phone device based on Google’s Android OS. The rumours spread that mobile phone developers at Facebook are said to be working on a secret Facebook phone project. But Facebook is denying this report. A spokesman for Facebook Jaime Schopflin said, "Facebook is not building its own branded smartphone. Our view is that almost all experiences would be better if they were social, so integrating deeply into existing platforms and operating systems is a good way to enable this."
Possibility Still Exits: Schopflin further added, “The bottom line is that whenever we work on a deep integration, people want to call it a Facebook phone because that’s such an attractive soundbite, but building phones is just not what we do.” Despite this denial, some market analysts still hope for a Facebook Phone as it is follows the search engine giant Google. Google also denied the reports of building its own phone last year. But it has launched the smart phone Nexus in Jan 2010.
