Visit To India: Barack Obama, the US president is all set to visit India this November 2010. The President's trip to India may also include visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar and a stay at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai. Obama said that he looked forward to advancing the U.S. - India partnership, to experiencing all that India and its people and its incredible ancient culture had to offer, adding in a lighter vein. He intend to create an ‘Obama Platter’ after noting earlier that a restaurant in New Delhi was now serving a ‘Hillary Platter’.
Long-Term Partnership: Meera Shankar, Indian envoy to the US said, "We look forward to President Obama's visit to India next month with great hope and optimism and as an opportunity at highest political level to steer our relationship onto a new higher plane." She said, "Both countries have the strong political will to move in this direction. We share common interests and concerns, and jointly seek to build our relationship as a long-term global partnership. Both countries have expressed conviction that enduring bilateral relations do not serve us only bilaterally, but also in meaningfully addressing new global threats and challenges." She further added that Obama visit to India in November promises to be a landmark visit.
