Technologies for Glastonbury Festival: Orange is to unveil a new concept on sustainable technologies for Glastonbury festival similar to "Solar tent", which was released last year. Wellington boots are set to debut at the UK Glastonbury performing arts festival from June 23 to June 27 UK this year. Mobile operator Orange teamed with renewable-energy company GotWind to create the thermoelectric rubber boots, which feature a power-generating sole that converts feet heat into an electrical current and it could be well applicable whilst hiking, camping, or engaging in other activities that lend themselves to wellie wearing but not to power outlets. Many festival goers show off a prototype eco-friendly kinetic charger the 12 hours of stomping through the fest`s muddy grass in the boots will keep festival goers feet dry and charger is expected to give enough power to charge a mobile phone for one hour. To make it simple, these wellies were made for walkers and user will have to walk a lot to talk. Seebeck Effect Principle: Orange Power Wellies works on the seebeck effect principle. Power is collected via so-called Seebeck effect, in which a thermoelectric device creates a voltage when there`s a different temperature on each side. The soles of the wellies house an array of semiconductor materials sandwiched between two thin ceramic wafers; when heat from the foot is applied on the top side of the ceramic wafer and cold is applied on the opposite side, electricity is said to be generated. Make Cheap international calls: Consumers may want to consider making cheap international calls with mobile phones or landlines. As making international calls is also a hassle free process. Simply add the access number and the country code and make desired calls at your convenient time.
