Google Android Makes Free International Calls

With the launch of new application Rebtel, Android smartphone users can now make calls to their abroad Android smartphone user contacts absolutely free. 

Sweden-based Rebtel, which claims to be the world's largest independent mobile VoIP provider, may not be familiar to many users, but this updated version of Android application may change that.

When an Android user with Rebtel's application installed on his phone places a call, the application automatically detects when an international call is placed to one of the 50 supported countries and routes it through Rebtel’s network at no charge, callers only pay or use local carrier minutes on their voice plan. Rebtel for Android works any-time, anywhere and works with the standard dial pad and address book. According to the Rebtel press release, Rebtel works using any phone, land-line, feature phone, or Mobile phone, for just the cheap price of local call, or now free with the Rebtel Android app.
