Femtocell is now providing a replacement signal for 3G handsets hitting the UK network. It comes with a small unit plugged and home router via Ethernet. Addressing the audience at World Mobile Congress, Professor Simon Saunders, said: "2010 is the breakthrough year for Femtocell".

Femtocell solutions is fully deployed to compete with Sure Signal and all other leading UK operators. Femtocell will also provide high quality signal to users homes and workplaces. Sure Signal box starts from £50 depending on users current tariff, but Femtocell signal boxes may cost more for network operators at an initial stage and they would trail to nominal prices over time.

Maximum Data Rates

In addition to this, the signal box guarantees maximum data rates and reduced load on data networks. Nine live commercial networks are selling Femtocell products currently with a further three in the midst of deployment. Meanwhile, the global Femtocell market is anticipated to be worth $9bn per annum by 2014.
